Yesterday was an exciting day in the Handley home...we created our art studio! The corner of the laundry room that had previously held pantry items and cords galore has become our art corner.
The inspiration for the room was our thrifty find...a Fisher Price table for $6.99. It is just the right size for Matias. Combined with the easel (made by Great Grampa Merwin circa 1960), there should be room for projects big and small. And with a tile floor and utility sink closeby, no project will be too messy (well, within reason...).
The cabinet now holds art supplies, and the walls are ready to display the artwork. Still looking for a big bulletin board to complete the room.
Matias painted, used playdough and cut and pasted today. While I was off rocking Violet, he decided to try cutting paper with his scissors (he had been cutting playdough). So today he cut his first paper...and we pasted the scraps he made neatly into his little journal. He was pleased as punch with his work!
